Polar Bear Parade
What your seeing in the background of the polar bear and cubs are whale bones from a small village of Kaktovik. The residents of Kaktovik and their ancestors are the indigenous inhabitants of the region. The bowhead whale, caribou, Dall sheep, musk oxen and the fish of the region are a vital food source to the people of Kaktovik. On a whale harvest they take the remains near the Beaufort sea, the polar bears take over from their, nothing goes to waste.
