Black Bear Cub
This newly born black bear cub explores this new world it was thrusted into. These tools called claws are perfect for shimmying up and down these tall oak trees in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. It has found a nice seat already equipped with an umbrella made of leaves for keeping the rain off it's head.

Tearing an old dead tree apart in search of grubs, this black bear cub looks like he works at a sawmill.
This very young black bear cub was running around constantly, but paused for only one moment to look for a picture. This image was captured in Cades Cove, in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park.

This brown bear in Denali National Park came within, well right next to the vehicle. I was able to mount my telephoto lens in between the door and frame of the car. Wet fur coat from the rain makes for a wonderful image.
